Smart people should make things (yes - things) - and most people are smarter than they realize so this means you! The simple act of making something from nothing changes the way people see you and the way you see yourself in counterintuitive and powerful ways. I'll talk about what this means, how this works, why it matters, and how to get started using examples from my life and the people I've watched change their lives through the power of simply making some dang stuff.
Tommy is the CEO and co-founder of Alloy, a financial technology company in New York City. Alloy makes digital interactions with financial institutions seamless for users and safe for the FIs. We help make those painful online signup experiences a lot less painful without making them any riskier, and have raised $18m in funding from top tier venture firms to pursue this mission. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
